My car is officially ruined. Crossed the dreaded 30k mile mark yesterday. I guess I’ll just have to keep driving it ;)
Also, I paid it off today. I was planning on 32 months, but my summer vacation cost a lot so it ended up being 35 months. Oh well haha
KWERK or Feature?
I wish I had a better camera. This could be a cool picture spot
From the last oppo get together
Bonus Doggo Content
The reason it took me an extra 3 months haha

The only thing cooler than a Ferrari is a Twin Otter on floats.

I did that last year. The car has had 5 30k mile service at this point

No one can claim to be a die hard enthusiast until they own a Ferrari, once, even briefly. I have not attained your level of success... yet. Congrats on using your car!

It was a cool experience! Loud though. 127 dB according to my phone app haha. I was sitting right next to the engine though

Keeping the miles low is not worth losing the driving pleasure you get. Besides, a car
driven + maintained is more reliable than a garage queen.

It seems like you are already more success than me. I just had a far fetched dream that somehow barely worked out lol
Any Italian car or something with a little character and soul helps feed the inner enthusiast. And I wish I drove it more. Sitting at 5500 ish miles in almost 3 years. Better than the original owner who averaged 800 miles a year. She is purring and runs better the more she is used. Thanks for your kind words!

I just wanted to be sure I read that as FIVE 30k mile services within 30k miles.
WHY??

A bit over 14. There were a lot of things the previous shop screwed up and a tsb that was missed. So new water pump, hill bearings, clutch, an input shaft that was scored, and replaced the cam needle bearings that should have been replaced by now. Plus a bunch of other little shit I forgot. Peace of mind is an expensive concept haha

Exactly! The more it's driven, the better it runs. If I was buying another one, I'd get the highest mileage one I could find with a stack of records. They look pretty in the garage, but even better on a coastal road

The car is nearly 30 years old. So roughly every 5 years the major has been completed. Rubber belts get brittle, bearings leak and wear out, etc. Even just time is hard on components. There is much debate on if you need to do it every 5 years, but I’d rather not have a bearing seize, belt break, or something else catastrophic happen.
My VW is 13 years old and it's on the 3rd timing belt. So similar amount of time, just way more miles lol

Yeah. I’m just NOT a morning person. I think that day was the one where I finally got to sleep.
But I did go to WWD’s before he turned it in and drove the Model 3 a few miles. Not a fan.

Ouch, that’s how much my 355 major cost, and that included $5k of headers and cats!

No, he would simply say owning a Ferrari (or any other marque for that matter)
is not a prerequisite to being a die hard enthusiast

That’s a lame and laissez faire type attitude. I might upset more people, but at least I take a stand!

I’m not really a morning person either. But I enjoy avoiding traffic more than I enjoy sleeping in. Can always take a nap later

Yeah, it was major ++ on a 355 for sure. At least you didn't need a valve job!

Go for sure. It was unbelievably remarkable. We used a TON of points on the trip. Do what you gotta do, but certainly try to go before it's under water and the reefs are dead.

We’ve had this discussion before. And since then I took that approach when going to Disneyland. I’ll get up at four or five in order to get to Disneyland when the parking structure opens.
But anything else? NOPE!
